What do you build for businesses?

- Swing and slide vehicle gates, ready for access control.
- Screening for storage, loading and mechanical equipment.
- Temporary fencing for construction.
Are there special rules for commercial fences?
Yes. Santa Clara's code requires nonresidential uses next to homes to be screened with a 6-foot solid wall or fence, reduced to 3 feet within required street setbacks. Outdoor storage has to be screened from public view. Barbed wire, razor wire and electrified fences are prohibited, except that monitored perimeter security systems can be allowed on light and heavy industrial parcels with a conditional use permit.
Does a commercial fence need review?
Usually. Architectural Review applies to new fences in Santa Clara unless a residential exemption covers them, and fences next to a public right-of-way must have a graffiti-resistant surface. We confirm the review path for your parcel before pricing.
How is the price set?
By footage and height, plus each gate, the post method (in soil or core-drilled into concrete), demolition and any after-hours work. It all goes on a written quote.
